　　Reading classics have significant implication for a person’s development. A sea of classic books are usually written by a lot of well-known folks. Different kinds of books tell us their own special subjects, which teach us how to effectively do our jobs, carry out problems from different parts and do a successful man.

　　Recently people who tend to read classics are shrinking, while in the past classic staff had a large popularity for all kinds of individuals. Why does this phenomenon come out? The reason for this problem is from many aspects, mainly as follows.

　　The first reason is that people do not have enough time to read and reluctant to spend their valuable time in books. As the economic development is becoming increasingly fast, a multitude of characters surge into their money. In order to earn more incomes, they kill their all time in their jobs, and they even don’t want to take a little of their all time to read. The second reason for causing this phenomenon is next.

　　Nowadays piracy books become growing popular, especially classics. This problem, to some extent, affects people’s moods and interests of reading classics. So a wealth of individuals of reading classics turn to dramatically shrinking.

　　From my own perspective, we, as college students, should read all kinds of books, including classics, to develop our own comprehensive and perfect knowledge. We should pay attention to the content of books, not the paper quality of books.

　　One of the first things we think about when we hear the word communication is language. There are thousands of languages spoken around the world today. In fact, linguists say that there may be as many as 10,000.

Nonverbal communication includes voice quality, eye movement, facial expression and body movements such as gestures and change in body position. But many people do not realize that everyone uses nonverbal communication. Sometimes, we "say" more with our faces and gestures than we do with our voices.

　　Books, magazines, newspapers, radio, television, and telephone are other means of communication. Today we can also communicate over long distance with the help of communications satellites. Some scientists say that soon machines will be developed for sending messages through the earth. The technology necessary to build these machines is very complex. But the language we speak every day is much more complex than the most modern communications technology.

　　Twice a week in the afternoon I teach English classes at the Telephone and Telegraph Company’s Institute in pan-Ciao.

　　I teach telephone operators and office workers of the phone company for three hours each session. Usually we cover the textbook unit in the first two hours, and then the last hour is for free conversation. In the beginning of the term the students are very shy about talking, but after two weeks they are asking all kinds of questions.

　　During the last hour I sometimes review the students’ English vocabulary by playing games such as crosswords, opposite and similar words, or singing songs in English or Chinese. To learn a foreign language can be fun.
